Chuck Liddell

Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell is 38 years old, born in Santa Barbara, California, and fighting out of San Luis Obispo, California. At 6' 2" and 205 pounds, he fights in the Light Heavyweight division. His reputed strengths are as a phenomenal striker and grappler. He says his favorite technique is the right leg whip kick. His predominant fighting styles are wrestling, kickboxing, and Kempo.

Inspired at a young age by "Kung Fu Theater", Liddell started studying Koei-Kan karate at 12 years of age, followed by wrestling at 14. After that, he pursued an interest in kickboxing. He has since then achieved a purple belt in Jiu-Jitsu.

The Former UFC World Light Heavyweight champion, The Iceman sports a 20-2 kickboxing record and has earned several kickboxing titles, including USMTA North American Heavyweight, IKF National Heavyweight, and IFC Light Heavyweight.

His first UFC bout was also his first UFC win, a unanimous decision against Noe Hernandez at UFC 17: Redemption on May 15, 1998.  Since then, he has earned a reputation as one of the most widely recognized MMA fighters, having appeared on ESPN, Fox Sports, and in Sports Illustrated. His noteworthy victories include those against: Guy Mezger, Jeremy Horn, Renato Sobral, Kevin Randleman, Randy Couture, and Tito Ortiz.

While earning his degree in accounting, Liddell wrestled for California Polytechnic State University. Before committing to professional fighting, he worked as both a bouncer and a bartender.

At the time of this writing, Liddell's overall MMA record is 21-5-0, with the majority of his victories accomplished by way of knockout. Liddell is also a New York Times bestselling author with his biography, "Iceman: My Fighting Life".
