American Psycho Out of Commission
We won’t be seeing American Psycho Stephen Bonnar in the Octagon anytime soon.
Bonnar was scheduled to fight Matt Hamill in UFC Fight Night 13, but now it appears he’ll still be in the thick of a grueling six-month recovery from an injury he suffered yesterday in Las Vegas, Nevada during Jiu-Jitsu training.
Tearing ligaments in his leg (the left knee to be precise) came as a huge blow to the light heavyweight, who had hoped to make the April 2, bout his third consecutive win. Instead, he’ll be recuperating from surgery to be held in Los Angeles where he’ll be given the ligament of a cadaver.
The message boards are swarming with upset fans, who remember Bonnar’s exciting defeat of Forrest Griffin at the Ultimate Fighter 1 finale and his subsequent victory over Eric Schafer at UFC 77.
Heading to Broomfield, Colorado to replace him as Hamill’s opponent will be Tim Boetsch.
