Lesner Grounds and Pounds His Way to a Loss
The first big time UFC fight for former WWE star Brock Lesner ended quickly, but we all got a glimpse of the huge potential this fighter has in the future. Lesner took down former UFC champ Frank Mir with ease and was raining down heavy blows while in a dominate top position for much of the first round. While Mir worked for submissions he could not real in Lesners arms because they were to massive for him to control.
Eventually, Lesner lost position by making a some what rookie mistake and Mir pounced catching him in a knee bar forcing Lesner to tap almost immediately.
While the fight did not get out of the first round, Lesner showed the huge upside that everyone has been talking about over the past couple of months. If he continues to train and shore up his ground/submission defense, this heavyweight fighter could be a dominate fighter int he very near future.
